Vision Therapy for Traumatic Brain Injury


Acquired or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a term used to group conditions caused by a disruption in normal brain function due to blunt, penetrating or acceleration trauma, whiplash, cerebral vascular accidents, suffocation/hypoxia and pharmacological toxicity.  Basically, it is an insult to the brain, such as a hit to the head, stroke or neurological dysfunction and can otherwise be classified as Post-Concussion Syndrome or cervical-trauma syndrome.

Our Vision Therapy program consisits of an individualized treatment plan designed to retrain the brain's ability to control the following:

The visual system is stimulated through the use of manipulatives, specialized computer programs, balance devices and optical equipment including therapeutic lenses, prisms, patches and filters.
